La mostra "Jeff Koons: a retrospective" - curata da Scott Rothkopf e Lucìa Agirre - è una retrospettiva cronologica e completa della varie fasi artistiche di Jeff Koons, personaggio chiave dell’arte contemporanea. Icona dello stile neo-pop, Koons è un artista profondamente americano, da sempre abituato a pensare e produrre su "vasta scala": i suoi lavori sono sculture e tele di grandi dimensioni, dai colori sgargianti, kitsch, provocatorie e geniali. Oltre 100 le opere in mostra al Guggenheim: dai lavori degli anni '70 a quelli del nuovo millennio, tra cui figurano le serie dedicate a celebrità come "Popeye" e l’ "Incredibile Hulk" . Per sua stessa ammissione, Koons è un artista acritico, un edonista che vuole stupire e prendersi gioco dei tabù e dei limiti imposti all’individuo dalla società. E anche per questo è l' ex marito di Ilona Staller ...
