The sixteenth edition of the San Sebastian Gastronomika (October 5-8) will have a strong Italian flavour. As it happened during previous editions, this extraordinary culinary show will feature the best chefs from Spain and around the world, but choosing Italy as guest country, red tape is guaranteed for all Italian chefs.
Aware that Italy is made up of many cultures, emotions, and therefore many styles of cooking, the Spanish festival has decided to introduce Italian cuisine in a very challenging way, which is effectively summarized by the heading "Italy: North vs South". "Italy, North and South, offers a double panorama of aromas to discover. Not only in the traditions and a study of these, but in the many new trends arising from the free and creative interpretation of its seas, its mountains and its horizons". According to the organizers, there two Italy and their broad culinary traditions will become one in San Sebastian, where festival participants will have the chance to "taste" it for the first time.
