Italia

We have already mentioned what Letta's Government is expected to do in order to gain trust and respect within the country. What is interesting to stress here is what Europe and the U.S. think the new Italian Prime Minister will do to convince them that Rome deserves to be re-added to the list of reliable and stable countries.
Here are a few ideas elaborated by foreign colleagues, discussing whether Letta's Italy will be closer to Europe or not:
1) According to the French Le Figaro, Italy would contribute to the creation of a sort of "New Europe", where growth will be more important than austerity, and that the European population as a whole will start trusting again.
2) Time is quite sure that the one of Prime Minister Letta is a European and a pro-Europe government, reminding that he has already planned to visit major European capitals to confirm that Italy would stay the course of economic reforms.
So let's see how Berlin, Paris, and Bruxelles are going to welcome him in the coming days to decide who is right and who is not.
