The Milan Fashion Week, held in the capital of Lombardy from 20th to 26th February 2013 has come to an end, and has met its own expectations.
"This edition of Milano Moda Donna confirmed the positive signs of recovery that we saw in January with Milano Moda Uomo." - Commented the President of CNMI (National Chamber of Italian fashion) Mario Boselli - "The shows were filled with operators, buyers, journalists and all that takes for an event like this to succeed and we are confident that this scenario is consistent with the expected improvement in sales of the F/W 2013-2014."
The Milan Fashion Week featured 71 fashion shows including 7 double (Gucci, Versace, Jil Sander, Emilio Pucci, Marni, Emporio Armani, Giorgio Armani) 50 presentations, 10 reserved presentations, for a total of 127 collections dedicated to Autumn/Winter 2013-2014.
Starting point of the event was the Fashion Hub of Milano Moda Donna; the only event that can boast 5 historically important locations as Palazzo Giureconsulti, the center and heart of the event, the magnificent Castello Sforzesco, the sumptuous Palazzo Clerici, the historic seat of the Circolo Filologico and finally the ancient Palazzo della Ragione.
This year Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana confirmed its constant support and assistance to young designers with a series of events dedicated to them: the catwalks of the Castello Sforzesco showing the young promises of N.U.De. - New Upcoming Designers and the winners of the Next Generation contest. These appointments guaranteed the involvement of the Milanese public, the temporary showroom Palazzo Giureconsulti, the presentations within the prestigious VIP Lounge of Mercedes, the shows in Via Mercanti.
Within the Fashion Hub of Palazzo Giureconsulti the Milan fashion week hosted the workshop, created in co-operation with Adecco Training, "Talent Day 2013: Companies meet Students" for young people who aspire to work in the fashion world while Connect4Climate is an initiative of global co-operation on the issues of communication and climate change. The project is promoted by the World Bank, the Ministry of Environment and the Global Environment Facility and today has a global community of more than 150 major organizations.
This year the city of Milan had the opportunity to actively live the fashion week by attending fashion shows in Via Mercanti and in the big screens located in the pedestrian area between Piazza Cordusio and Piazza Castello that will show in live streaming the fashion shows hosted within the Camera Nazionale della Moda locations.
To facilitate the moving from one location to the other - as in previous editions - a shuttle service was made available.
