The travel website Skyscanner released the 2017 edition of an annual survey of the 15 most beautiful beaches in Italy, basing mainly on tips and feedbacks from travellers who used the website, but also on water and beach cleanliness and the uniqueness of the surrounding scenery and landscape.
The top beach honour was awarded to Tonnarella dell'Uzzo, in the Sicilian Zingaro protected park. It is a seven-kilometers stretch of beach that runs from San Vito lo Capo to Castellammare del Golfo. Cala dei Gabbiani beach in Sardinia took second place, and Cala Feola beach in Ponza island obtained the third position.
