Milan Fashion Week Women's, ready to (re)start
The fashion industry ended 2022 with great performance at the beginning of the year belied expectations of a sharp slowdown in the sector. During Milan Fashion Week, we will discover Fall/Winter 2023-2024 collections that are preparing for new challenges and setting the next trends
Despite the general economic situation and the energy crisis, the fashion industry's turnover in 2022 rose to over +18%, with the output growing by 8% in the core specific sectors, while in jewelry and trinkets it grew by 14%. For fashion and related segments, export increased by 19% to both non-EU and EU countries, dominated by the outstanding performance of the U.S., South Korea, and the Emirates, with China also holding up well.
With this result and maintaining a cautious approach, it is possible to begin in 2023 as well in searching for a balance with a positive sign both at the macroeconomic level and also for Italy, although uncertainties remain high regarding the impact of high energy prices, especially in some very energy-intensive sectors and for some intermediate goods in the fashion supply chain.
CSM - Camera Showroom Milano, which gathers the main national and international buyers in collaboration with Confartigianato Moda, is increasing synergistic actions precisely during the long-awaited event of Milan Fashion Week.

On the one hand, the memorandum of understanding with CSM guarantees an important synergy between Italian Micro Small and Medium Enterprises and top-level distribution, to create a major team, for the national and international restart of the country."
To this end, "Artisanal Evolution" will be inaugurated in parallel with Milano Moda Donna, sponsored by the City of Milan and supported by Camera Buyer Italiana, and will be a traveling itinerary through the best of Made in Italy excellence created by artisan companies.
The exhibition spaces within each showroom will have a unique impactful modular layout, with the clothing collections displayed in a total look on identical mannequins in all participating showrooms, while the accessories collections will be displayed on cubes, which will also be identical in all the spaces. The craftsmanship will be emphasized as well as the green banner of brands dedicated to eco-sustainability, also reconfirmed during the special "CSM Meets Sustainability" event expected on Friday, Feb. 24, at the Chioschi di San Barnaba, realized in collaboration with Ice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
