Thai World: Meet Perth and Chimon

Panorama.it interviewed in exclusive for the Italian and European readers GMMTV's duo of "Dangerous Romance"

Perth and Chimon's talent is undeniable. The way actors showcase their on-screen chemistry is often just as crucial as their acting skills. This, naturally, relies on the interaction between their characters—essentially, the dynamic they share.

"Dangerous Romance" unfolds as a captivating series where the roles of Kangham and Sailom are expertly portrayed. The narrative is most compelling when the characters begin as adversaries in the initial episodes. The most exhilarating aspect of "Dangerous Romance" lies in witnessing the gradual development of a strong bond between Sailom, Kanghan, and their friends.

Perth, born Tanapon Sukumpantanasan on March 20, 2001, in Bangkok, Thailand, is a renowned Thai actor and singer, widely recognized for his nickname. Teaming up with Rueangrit Siriphanit, Perth showcased his musical flair by releasing their inaugural single titled "อาการงี้ (Hello Doctor)" in September 2020, marking a significant milestone in his artistic journey.

Recognized for his standout performances, he has taken on key roles such as Sun in GMMTV's My Dear Loser: Edge of 17 (2017), Wave in The Gifted (2018), The Gifted: Graduation (2020), and Andrew in Blacklist (2019). Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in film at Bangkok University under the School of Digital Media and Cinematic Arts, he continues to expand his knowledge and skills in the field. Chimon made his entry into the entertainment industry with a notable appearance in the film 13 Beloved (2006). His official acting debut took place in 2015 with the movie Ghost Ship, and he secured a leading role in Sweet Boy (2016). Panorama.it spoke with the duo.

Nice to meet you. Can you please introduce yourself to our readers?

Perth: Hi, I'm Perth, and I play the role of Kanghan in "Dangerous Romance".

Chimon: Hi, I'm Chimon, and I play the part of Sailom in "Dangerous Romance".

Can you also introduce us to your characters in Dangerous Romance?

Perth: I think I can describe Kanghan as a bully in some way. He comes from a wealthy family, so he knows what to do and get. When he met Chimon, he was quite a bad guy, but things slowly changed...

Chimon: On the other side, Sailom comes from an impoverished family. He knows what being poor means, so he works hard to earn money. At some point, when he gets the job at Kanghan's house... he feels a sense of fulfillment. And things begin to change for him as well...

I'm curious to know more about your relationship. How does it differ in real life and on-screen?

Perth: My character and I are completely different, so it's my relationship with Sailom/Chimon. On-screen, I'm cocky, but in real life, we are very close and we can talk about everything.

Chimon: I agree with what Perth said; his character is really cocky on screen, but in real life, we have a strong bond; we can talk about everything and rely on each other a lot.

Do you have some fun stories connected to your first encounter?

They both laugh.

Perth: Yes, we indeed have a hilarious story. Our first meeting was about five years ago; I was very excited to meet Chimon and finally work with him. I was driving my car to the restaurant where we were supposed to meet, and suddenly, a lot of smoke started coming from my car's engine. And the car stopped. Even my car felt the pressure and the excitement and broke!

They laugh again.

Chimon: I told him that was okay because I could understand what happened and that we were lucky only the car broke, and he didn't hurt himself in any way. But in the end we met, and everything went well...

Which was your most memorable moment together? And why?

Perth: Right now, I would say the moment after we finished shooting the series. It's when everybody can relax; we go out eating and drinking with all the crew involved in the project, and it's the moment I really feel blessed to be surrounded by great people.

Chimon: I love what Perth said, and I want to add that I love when we are free and we can go out and drive together during the weekend. We both love cars and racing cars, so we have a lot of fun running together.

I would like to ask you a few questions: which is your song on repeat right now?

Perth: "Wind" from the series "Dangerous Romance", sung by Chimon.

Chimon: "Here with you" from "Dangerous Romance", sung by Perth.

And what food have you craved the most lately?

Perth: Chinese hotpot.

Chimon: To be honest, right now, I would eat everything.

And if you had to define the other with one word, which would you use?

Perth: I would describe Chimon as someone who respects people and never steps on them.

Chimon: I would describe Perth as someone who's very good at everything he does.

I also would like to know how you would define yourself in one word.

Perth: Respectful.

Chimon: Easygoing.

What's coming next for you?

Perth: We have a lot of things coming next, projects, secrets

They laugh.

Chimon: Yes, secrets, but our fans can keep following us to find out more!
